The eye has been termed the window to a person’s soul. It is a unique organ and is composed of many different types of tissue.

A Dialogue with a Doctor Interview Series: Lang Eye Centre Medial Director Dr. Leonard Ang

As we know, not all lenses are created equal – and certainly, not all eyes are created equal. That leaves surgeons to balance the qualities,

Millions of people around the world go blind from eye disease every year. Sight is so important yet, many people take it for granted until it is lost.

Mdm X, a 57 year lady, noticed blurring of vision in both eyes for a few months. She saw Dr Leonard Ang, who found that her vision was poor and that she had dense cataracts in both eyes

Glaucoma is the second leading cause of blindness in the world and the leading cause of irreversible blindness. It is estimated that 7 million out of 70 million glaucoma patients worldwide suffer from bilateral blindness as a result of glaucoma.

The cornea is the central clear transparent window of the eye. Corneal blindness is one of the leading causes of treatable blindness, with more than 20 million cases happening globally

Refractive errors, such as myopia and presbyopia (lao hua), are common causes of poor vision. Advances in refractive surgery enable all forms of refractive error to be corrected, and patients can achieve excellent vision with greater precision and safety, without the need for spectacles

Retinal diseases such as age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy are 2 leading causes of blindness.

Myopia is also known as shortsightedness. This usually occurs when the eyeball is longer and light rays are focused in front of the retina.
